Spring time slushy sessions

Posted by Karl Sanderson on September 21, 2008

August left us with metres of fresh snow.  Powder days now have ended as we move on to spring conditions.  With this deep base we are having an amazing spring shredfest.  The Lippi competition series has finished with our friends taking honours.  Tamo in first and Ralf in third.  Perfect park conditions for progression.  Loving life and living the dream.3valleyschile

stormy days

Posted by Karl Sanderson on August 1, 2008

dsc00876.jpgWith a foot of fresh snow last week and the dusting that proved to be a god send for the backcountry mid week.  I’ve been a bit busy and not quite able to keep up to date info up for you out there.  Today with another whiteout in effect I can now tell you about these stormy days…They have been so nice! A fine showing by the Pilsen crew in the first leg of the Lippi freestyle big air in Valle:  Tomas taking second and Craig in third… Marcos and Stefano laying tracks in the chutes outside of La Parva. So many familiar faces glowing with the satisfaction of powder turns at the happy hour in Alambique.  Its the daily operation for us here these days

a little fresh

Posted by Karl Sanderson on July 17, 2008

dsc00769_2.jpg     Last night and into early this morning we received a little more fresh snow.  Last week there was a larger storm but it came in with heavy wind.  Loading Cono Este and various parts of Valle nicely.  Today we had only about 10cms but it fell gently without much wind.  Forecast calls for more snow Sunday….

What to do when waiting with patience for friends.  Express the sentiments reflecting the day.  Sunshine, blue skies and nice snow.  Laid back and chillin’  Jake Colenda drops and pops.  Days like this you never want to stop…

update June 19

Posted by Karl Sanderson on June 19, 2008

About a foot of snow fell between yesterday morning and this morning.  The weather considered clearing for a moment or two, but the end result was steady snow fall just about all day long.  Visibility was compromised,  sure, but turn after turn of deep snow more than made up for it.  A mellow shred as the good stuff never opened today.  We’ll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.  Very few people on the mountain as I’m sure the road up was unpleasant…

new snow june 18th

Posted by Karl Sanderson on June 18, 2008

I was awoken by some heavy wind this morning.  These same winds quickly brought in a heavy cloud layer which in turn is now producing a steady snowfall. The winds have settled down a bit so enough said.  We’re heading out for some turns.

Opening day.

Posted by Karl Sanderson on May 22, 2008

After a decent storm system over the greater Santiago area left about 40cms of new snow in the resorts.  The powers that be are looking at June 13th for their opening day this year.  With the improved snowmaking at the areas the skiing and snowboarding ought to be pretty good early season in Chile.  I’ll be back in country June 10th and will get some fresh photos of the conditions up as soon as… We do still have some spaces available so crack the piggy bank and come ride the Andes with 3 Valleys Chile…Here’s a look to the mountains and the latest snowfall.  img_1373-early-snow.jpg

Early snow!!

Posted by Catalina Ponce on April 25, 2008
It’s maybe a  little too early to get all excited but its nice to know that its getting cold enough for some snowfall here at the resorts outside Santiago.  El Colorado, Valle Nevado, and La Parva are all due to receive some fresh snow this weekend.  I hope this is an indicator of a good snowfall to come this season.  Let it snow!!

just cant stop it!

its snowing again today the 15th…seems like its been dumping for weeks! no… it has cleared up nicely in between these systems and left us with partly cloudy skies and little wind with which to enjoy the deep fresh snow…the 3 resorts are most likely going to extend the days they are open till late october…
